I found a new trick for a quick and easy way to avoid fighting with de-silking corn on the cob. It really works! First, take a couple of ears of corn and leave them in the husk. Don't do anything to them at all. Just cook them in the microwave for 8-10 min. Use oven mitts when removing them from the microwave. (Trust me, you need the oven mitts. I found that out the hard way.) Then, cut off the non-tassled end...all the way through...husk, cob and all. Invert and slide cob out...free of annoying silks. Assume the elbows-out position and dig in!
